Battlefront Arado 234 “Blitz” Bomber Review by Ignacio Herrero

Arado with extra fuel Belly Tank

The Arado Ar 234 Blitz (English: lightning) was the world’s first operational jet-powered bomber, built by the German Arado company in the closing stages of World War II.

Produced in very limited numbers, it was used almost entirely in the reconnaissance role, but in its few uses as a bomber it proved to be nearly impossible to intercept. It was the last Luftwaffe aircraft to fly over Britain during the war, in April 1945.

Arado Blitz with USAF markings

Capable of 461 miles per hour at 20,000 feet and faster than any Allied fighter it was likely to face in the sky during its era, the Arado Ar 234 was the world’s first operational jet bomber. It was initially used for reconnaissance. Adolf Hitler considered it to be one of the wunderwaffen, or “wonder weapons” that would reverse his fortunes at a time when Nazi Germany was losing the war. Diy Dragon Teeth tutorial by Ignacio Herrero

Diy Dragon Teeth tutorial by Ignacio Herrero

Dragon’s teeth (‘Panzersperre Höckerlinie’ in German “Thx Seb for your add”) are square pyramidal fortifications of reinforced concrete first used during the Second World War to impede the movement of tanks and mechanised infantry. The idea was to slow down and channel tanks into killing zones where they could easily be disposed of by anti-tank weapons. They were employed extensively, but in practice, the use of combat engineers and specialist clearance vehicles enabled them to be disposed of relatively quickly, and they proved far less of an obstacle than many had expected.

Dragon’s teeth were extensively used by all sides in the European Theatre. The Germans made extensive use of them in the Siegfried Line and the Atlantic Wall. Typically, each “tooth” was 90 to 120 cm (3 to 4 ft) tall depending on the precise model.

Land mines were often laid between the individual “teeth”, and further obstacles constructed along the lines of “teeth” (such as barbed wire to impede infantry, or diagonally-placed steel beams to further hinder tanks). The French army employed them in the Maginot Line, while many were laid in the United Kingdom in 1940–1941 as part of the effort to strengthen the country’s defenses against a possible German invasion.

Due to the huge numbers laid and their durable construction, many thousands of dragon’s teeth can still be seen today, especially in the remains of the Siegfried and Maginot Lines. Dragon’s teeth can also still be found in the remains of the Zealand part of the Atlantic Wall, like in Groot-Valkenisse.

A well camouflaged command post.

One of the most iconic vehicle of the WW2, it´s a perfect unknow betwen the people not habitual to the Second Worl War history.

Those one, isn´t a tank, airplane,…etc. Was a command car, who were used for English and German Army during whole World War.

During the Second World War, the United Kingdom was the only country to develop and widely employ purpose-built armoured command vehicles. Those were essentially armoured buses based on truck chassis.

The most common ACV of the British Army was the AEC 4×4 ACV. The vehicle, based on AEC Matador chassis, entered production in 1941. A total of about 415 units were built. The vehicle was used for the first time in the North African Campaign and remained in service until the end of the war. Read More

Die Götterdämmerung Review and Painting guide

fullsizerender-1

Front of the objective

Months ago I purchased one piece of resin from Heer46 thx to Denis Schumacher for the support, quick service and great stuff.

The quality of the piece its great, the main element of the piece its the German Eagle over the debris, its a good modelled eagle but it seams to be 3d printed, because you can see the little lines of the printing process, I think this little problem will be solved and the next pieces provided of the  Eagle will be more clean.
